Is cork flooring difficult to install? No, but you need to take your time when installing it because it's fragile! Cork is not hard like laminate floors, it's soft and any edge will break or dent if bumped into something. You need to look at every piece before you install it and use finesse when locking it into place. Once it's lock into place, and damaged free before install, the floor transform into a beautiful, colorful, rich looking, elegant floor, and is soft on the feet. Cork will dent an scratch if not taken care of so be smart and use precaution when using the floor. In otherwords, don't throw heavy things on it!
As far as affordabililty, cork can be expensive and is generally for the more expensive homes use, like a home gym floor with a fabulous old world rich look appearance. You would rarely see this floor in a typical home because it needs special attention compared to a laminate, ceramic, and carpet floor.
For maintenace, a quick vacuum or a dry swifter to pick up debri off the floor, then use mild soap & water with a rung out sponge mop. Don't use lots of water on the floor so make sure it's rung out good. Or, instead of sponge mop, use the Bona Kemi floor cleaner for wood floors and slightly damp mop the floor with their microfiber mop. Rememer, don't mop you cork floor with lots of water!
